HOW DO I MAKE AN APPOINTMENT?
You can either email us at hello@definingmomentsca.com or click the button below.
WHAT IS A FIRST MEETING LIKE?
The first meeting is dedicated to understanding the reasons you are coming in and exploring fit between you and your counselor. It’s a time for you to ask questions about the therapy process, and your counselor’s experiences and therapeutic style. You and your counselor would also take time to come up with short-term and/or long-term goals for treatment.
HOW LONG ARE SESSIONS?
Sessions are generally 45 minutes long.
HOW FREQUENTLY DO WE MEET?
Most clients begin with weekly sessions. Meeting consistently at the start helps build a strong therapeutic relationship and creates momentum for meaningful progress.
As therapy continues, session frequency can be adjusted based on your needs, goals, and progress. Our priority is that you feel supported, and we’ll work together to find what fits best.
HOW LONG DO I STAY IN TREATMENT?
Duration of treatment depends on various factors such as the severity and duration of the difficulty, client’s goals, treatment recommendations, etc. Our therapists often set a short-term treatment goals first and reassess the need for continued therapy as needed.
DO YOU ACCEPT INSURANCE?
Some of our therapists are in-network with Lyra Health, Aetna, and Cigna. If you would like to use your insurance, please let us know your provider when you contact us, and we will do our best to match you with a therapist who is in-network.
Most of our therapists are considered out-of-network providers. If you have a PPO plan, you may be eligible for partial reimbursement. We can provide a superbill (a detailed receipt of services) that you can submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement.
Please note that reimbursement is not guaranteed, as coverage varies by plan. We recommend contacting your insurance provider to better understand your benefits.
When you call your insurance, you can ask:
Do I have out-of-network mental health benefits?
What is my deductible, and has it been met?
What percentage of each session will be reimbursed?
Is there a limit on the number of sessions covered?
Do I need preauthorization for outpatient therapy?
How do I submit a superbill for reimbursement?
If helpful, we are happy to guide you through this process or answer general questions.
WHAT IF I AM NOT ABLE TO AFFORD YOUR FULL FEE?
Our clinicians have dedicated time to providing our services at a reduced fee for clients who are not able to afford our full fee.
